CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF CARVING

The 7 inch, basswood black duck is my hand carved tribute to my father, Dr. George Ross Starr Jr. MD of Duxbury, Massachusetts.  In 1956 at nine years old, I carved a the black duck while Dad created several pieces to be sold at Abercrombie & Fitch in NYC.

In 1956 at nine years old, I carved a black duck while Dad was creating several to be sold at Abacrombe & Fitch in NYC. To celebrate 50 years of carving, I hand made 125 black ducks which are signed, numbered and dated.
